ON GUITARS - OMI Dobro

1972 OMI Dobro 60DS. Primarily used for backing up vocalists, the 60DS has a distinguishing tone and is truly an instrument that sounds like no other. It is ideal for filling holes and backing up other melody instruments, like vocals or violin. Solid maple construction with a Quarterman aluminum cone. It is one of the most reliable instruments in that it is tonally consistant, can produce high sound compression levels, and can penetrate in a mix of other instruments. While not as rich as a Tim Scheerhorn guitar, for the price it does the job very well.

OMI (Original Musical Instruments), which was in the Pismo Beach, CA area, was purchased by Gibson decades ago. OMI dobros can still be acquired elsewhere.
