RESIDENCY DESCRIPTION

Residencies and workshops are tailored to suit presenter needs.  Presenters can expect instruction covering guitar (beginning to advanced) for people of all ages.  Length and duration of workshops can vary, but usually do not exceed 45 minutes per session.  Residencies also cover defining genres of American folk music, music historiography, various instruments and technical discussions regarding guitar construction and why and how they are used.

For college level master classes, residencies cover advanced performance, songwriting, and the business of traditional folk music.  These lectures can be 2 hours in duration, and involve a great amount of Q&A.

For presenters who are seeking to increase awareness of their venue and season programming in their community, workshops can include demonstrations at community centers, in-school assemblies or rural outreach.

Bear Claw Music’s mission with regard to residencies is to exceed presenter expectations and provide the highest quality educational and artistic workshops.
